What is Patientrack?


Patientrack is a piece of software that allows nurses to enter vital signs; routinely measured at the bedside; into small handheld electronic devices. The early warning score (EWS) is then automatically calculated and alerts are displayed if the patients condition is deteriorating according to Trust protocol. 


These vital signs can be monitored via the hospital intranet anywhere in the hospital and alerts can be sent directly to nursing and medical staff via the hospital paging system. Hospital computers are updated in real-time using the wireless network; this enables patients conditions to be displayed in real-time. Doctors and nurses can then review the data on larger tablet screens during ward rounds.


Patientrack also allows for the electronic recording of assessments by doctors and nursing staff. The following assessments are completed in Patientrack by clicking on the Task tile:
