Accidental Discharge or Transfer


For units where CareFlow is connected, if the patient is moved on CareFlow before physically leaving the unit they will be automatically discharged from ICCA meaning that drug administration and any patient documentation will be ended. It is possible to cancel a discharge on ICCA to continue documentation as required within the same encounter if the transfer or discharge occurred by accident.


This should not be standard workflow just for additional documentation after a patient has physically moved.


Follow the below guides for undoing accidental discharge on ICCA. There are two options, one for if the patient has already been moved back on CareFlow PAS and one for when they have not yet been moved back on PAS.
